A Note for Members Who Joined Prior to 2017

In the years before state, provincial and other governmental licensure and certification requirements, AAPC provided the standards and credentials for many in the field of pastoral counseling. While AAPC has discontinued the certifications, AAPC members worked hard to distinguish themselves by pursuing:

  • Diplomate

  • Fellow

  • Certified Pastoral Counselor

  • Pastoral Care Specialist

While AAPC’s simplified membership, and thus its current streamlined dues structure, are no longer tied to these achievements, we invite all AAPC members who have worked hard to earn them, to continue to use these designations as a point of distinction and commitment to the profession.
